Using the Library

You can log into the Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) online catalog with your library card barcode number and PIN number to access your account information, place holds, and renew items. If you don’t know your barcode number and have lost your card, or if you don’t remember your PIN number, you must present photo ID in-person at the library in order to receive this information.

What are the requirements for a library card?

The first library card is free and available to all Clackamas County Residents (excluding Johnson City). There is no age limit for a library card. Photo identification is needed showing a current mailing address. A parent or guardian’s signature and ID is required if the cardholder is under age 18.

Residents of some neighboring counties may also receive a LINCC library card without a fee through the Metropolitan Interlibrary Exchange (MIX) agreement. Residents who live in Multnomah County, Washington County, Hood River County, or in the Fort Vancouver Regional Library district or in the city of Camus, Washington, may obtain a LINCC library card without paying a non-resident fee.

Residents of Johnson City are not part of the LINCC network or the MIX agreement. The annual fee for a Johnson City resident and other non-residents is $95.

How long can I keep items?

  • New books:  14 days/No renewals on Lucky Day books
  • Books:  28 days
  • DVDs:  7 days/No renewals on Lucky Day DVDs
  • Audiobooks:  28 days
  • Music CDs:  14 days
  • Magazines:  14 days
  • Video Games:  7 days
  • Cultural Passes:  1 day

How many items may I check out?

Total items per card:  50
DVDs per card:  15

Can I place items on hold from other LINCC libraries?

Yes! You will be notified via email or phone when your holds are available for pick up. Items will be held for 7 days. If an item is not owned by any LINCC library, it may be possible to borrow the item through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) instead. For more information about ILLs or to place a request, please click here.

What happens when items are overdue?

Overdue items are 25 cents per day. You will receive an email, phone call, or written notification depending on the preference noted on your account 5 days after an item is due and then again 30 days after the due date. If an item is not returned within 45 days after the due date, the item is considered lost, and the account will be billed for the item.

How much does printing from a computer or making copies cost?

Black & white: 10 cents per page
Color: 40 cents per page
